Beginnings
Five weeks ago, I began teaching once a week at an area middle school as part of my education practicum. It's been a blast. It's a new beginning for me. Sometimes the hardest thing to do is to begin. So let's talk about why I'm doing it. I've decided to start this blog for the following reasons (Not in any particular order): 1. Keep a record of my experiences, for self development. I'm imagining that in the future I will be able to look back during moments of professional darkness and find inspiration, perspective, or even more soul crippling despair. At the very least, I'll probably be able to laugh at myself. 2. Write. I like to write. I think that the more you write, and the more honesty and authentically you write - the better you get at writing. Nothing reads worse than the smell of something that's been overly curated and perfectly constructed. So I guess I am trying to be more authentic here. 3. Have a space to unload my brain.
